KEN & FRIENDS: MALE FASHION DOLLS & CLOTHING FROM 1961-1987
1984 The Outfits
In 1984 the Twice As Nice series began. They are very similar in approach to the Fashion Classics (a single complete fashion outfit), except that each outfit contained one item which was reversible. They are great, well-made outfits, produced in Taiwan with some shoes from Hong Kong. There was also a final Designer Collection outfit, a black suit. It was made in the Philippines, also with shoes from Hong Kong.
TWICE AS NICE
In Canada, the Twice As Nice series was also known as Doublement Élégants, in Germany as Wendemoden, and in Finland – wait for it! – as Kääntövaatteet Kenille.

The Twice As Nice outfits were sometimes packaged with the reversible piece the other way around (below left). Sometimes, in online auctions, they just look like it (below right), but the outfit has just been removed from packaging – see how the plastic has torn away from the card all around – and ‘incorrectly’ replaced.
